So effectively - for my set up - Adobe rgb mode is the same as calibration slot 1 9which used Adobe rgb for the calibration). There is the option to set it to slot 1. When I press the ‘colour mode’ on the display and I can cycle through Adobe rgb etc. When you calibrate with a device, any device, you are calibrating the display in the hardware calibration slot, this calibration is adjusting the 3D LUT on the display. The keyword here is "reference value." At the factory everything is calibrated to these reference value but none of our computer is outputting reference value because of the OS, driver, software, and etc. These calibration are done so that the various color modes shipped with the displays are showing the most accurate color possible based on the reference value. These SW and PD line go through a rigorous calibration process from the factory. All display needs to be calibrated from the factory. Off at the mains at the end of the day, will this reset the monitor and get rid of the calibration setting, I’m assuming that whatever hardware calibration you do is stored indefinitely until you do another calibration or do a factory reset and turning off at the mains does not do a factory reset ? As an aside - do you have a channel doing a similar thing for x rite calibration products ? Thanks in advance and for your video tutorials. That is one way to look at it but it is missing the point. Is there a quick way or shortcut for switching (windows) icc profiles just like the pilot software, but for hardware models? In a previous video you explained that the calibration profiles which are controlled by using the puck, where just for ‘previewing’ purposes. As explained in previous videos I can make 2 extra HW profiles and load them inside windows color management when I switch programs. There's really no need to calibrate in small or other color gamut. This said rather than calibrating your display to sRGB, I would just recommend that you calibrate it to the largest color space possible, Panel Native.
